Makhana Kheer
Makhana Kheer is a rich, creamy Indian dessert made using fox nuts,
milk, and mild spices. It is nutritious, easy to digest, and perfect
for festivals or healthy indulgence.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Makhana (Fox Nuts)
- 4 cups full cream milk
- 2–3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
- Chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Heat ghee in a pan and lightly roast the makhana until crisp.
- Let them cool, then crush roughly into small pieces.
- Boil milk in a heavy-bottom pan and reduce slightly.
- Add crushed makhana and cook for 8–10 minutes on low heat.
- Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well.
- Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm or chilled.
