Roasted Makhana
Roasted Makhana is a quick, healthy snack rich in protein and fiber.
Lightly roasted in ghee or olive oil, it makes a perfect guilt-free
snack for any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Makhana (Fox Nuts)
- 1 tablespoon ghee or olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Optional spices: black pepper, turmeric, chaat masala
Method
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat.
- Add ghee or olive oil and let it heat.
- Add makhana and stir to coat evenly.
- Roast on low heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Once crisp and lightly golden, add salt and spices.
- Turn off heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Store roasted makhana in an airtight container once fully cooled.
They stay fresh and crunchy for up to a week.
